Pourquoi est-il si important de ne pas pêcher l'achigan avant l'ouverture?

Si l'on n'est pas conscient des risques qu'encourent les poissons lorsqu'ils sont capturés en temps prohibé, ça paraît très anodin de faire du catch and release. Mais, en réalité, on leur fait beaucoup de tord!

Lorsqu'on attrape un poisson, il y a toujours un risque qu'il soit gravement blessé avec les hameçons. De plus, les longs combats sont extrêmement épuisant pour les femelles gravides et c'est une période qui leurs demandent déjà beaucoup d'énergies! Elles doivent être continuellement sur leur nid pour protéger leurs petits de tout les prédateurs qui sont constamment autour d'eux. Le temps d'un combat et c'est facilement une cinquantaine d'alevins qui viennent d'être mangés!

The St. Lawrence River, which is located upstream of the Atlantic Ocean, is a very productive and complex marine ecosystem anchored in the heart of our territory.

A fisherman who knows how to fish without leaving his waste behind is a good fisherman.

The different threads that we use to line our reels, the plastic packaging as well as all fishing rigs are far from being biodegradable. Abandoned in the wild, they will firstly constitute a source of visual pollution and then they can become deadly traps for birds and marine mammals.

David Faille has been kayaking (Old Town Sportsman Salty 120 PDL) since 2021 after selling his bass boat. This shift allowed him to invest in his fishing equipment.

This is how he discovered his passion for big lures and learned to fish with Glidebaits , Crawlers , Rats and Swimbaits .

David Faille is aiming for BIG fish! “I much prefer quality to quantity” he tells us! It closely monitors the weather and lunar phases. He also learned to fish at night.

All of this helped him a lot and allowed him to win the biggest tournaments of his career in 2023, including the Kayak Bass Canada online fishing series and the international Kayak Bass Fishing USA .
